Kimtern here, with your one and only source into the scandalous closets (and book shelves– read on!) of Manhattan’s elite . Did you patiently sit through 35 minutes of GG’s episode deux: Beauty and the Feast anticipating a costume change? Our eyes didn’t do much feasting, seeing as the rest of the cast wore the same tired thing throughout. Luckily, Blair’s cream coloured frock was well worth the wait.
We shall begin with Blair this week. Her vibrant yellow top and citrus-fruit inspired skirt were a match made in fashion heaven. Her recurring red lipstick is a trend I could get used to. Not to mention her orange handbag. I love all the color! Her wavy curls were much more Blair-like this week. As I said, I was a big fan of the cream dress. Her earrings, while fabulous, were a little overpowering. And, I thought her choice of clutch could use some color. Her outfit was neutral, the clutch would be the wow-factor always present in a Waldorf ensemble.Louis’ sis, newcomer Beatrice, did not make a good first impression in that blue-ish purple mini. It was not form flattering in the least. The only thing worse than that pink & brown floral dress she wore to the feast, are her plans to sabotage her brother.
I am not on Team Blouis (Blair + Louis) by any means, but he did look handsome in that purple-hued suit.
I was looking forward to Serena’s entrance, but it was a tad subdued with grey tones in a Shipley & Halmos Catalina tank and Porter Grey floral chiffon skirt. She didn’t disappoint for long– she threw a Topshop coral crop jacket over her shoulders and pulled the outfit together beautifully. Those Oscar de la Renta earrings were dazzling.I heart her green Mulberry Taylor oversized satchel. S rocks another episode with another ponytail. I’m glad Serena is heading home; Aunty S is going to have to take of preggie bestie, B.
I don’t like Charlie/Ivy and her mischievous ways, but I did like her blush colored Rag & Bone jeans and her subtle Rory Becca blouse.
Chuck looks great in his grey vest, pants, purple tie, pink shirt and matching socks, (in honour of Breat Cancer Awareness Month?). Mr. Bass’ fighting ways are a glimpse into author Cecily von Ziegesar’s re-imagining of the bestselling series. Gossip Girl: Psycho Killer combines her original Gossip Girl novel with a slasher story, taking backstabbing to a whole new level.
Once again, N and Dan sink to the bottom of our list: T-shirt mania continues for Lonely Boy, and cougar loving Nate loves him some flannel this week.
By far, the best look of the night was B nestled in Dan’s arms. I can’t wait to see what next week has in store!
You know you love me, XOXO
